Seventies Music Charts: Top Ten Hits from March 1977

Here are the pop charts of the week ending 4th March 1977 (UK).

1.Chanson D'Amour by Manhattan Transfer

This was a number one in UK but did not chart in the US, the group came from New York, and were named  after a 1925 book called "Manhattan Transfer".

Chanson D'Amour was originally a hit in 1958 and 1966 by various artists, but this is the one version that made it a 70s number 1.

70s Music Artist watch: Leo Sayer


Mr Gerald Sayer came into the world back in 1948, and he became a huge part of the music from the 70’s , with his ability to sing pop songs and ballads, and to dress up and entertain, and entertain he did.

Leo started his song writing career by having a co written hit for Roger Daltry from The WHO called "Giving It All Away". Gerald  later became Leo Sayer.
