In The 1970s Argent

Rod Argent left the Zombies in the late 1960s and formed Argent in 1969. Along with Russ Ballard,Jim Rodford (Swinging Blue Jeans fame)  and Bob Henrit Argent were complete.

In 1972 the group scored their only top ten hit with Hold Your Head Up written by Rod and Chris White (former co Zombies singer). The single came from the album All Together Now which was recorded at the Abbey Road studios.

The next single from the same album was called Tragedy and only reached No.34 in the UK pop charts. In 1973 they were back with another top twenty hit with God Gave Rock N Roll To Me  written by Russ Ballard.
