In the 1970s Genesis

They started back in 1967 with members including Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks and later in 1970 Phil Collins. The group sold over 150 million albums with several name changes throughout the years.
Amazingly single chart wise the group did not very well in the UK charts during the classic 1970s era.

In 1974 the group scored a No. 21 hit with I Know What I Like (In The Wardrobe) from the album Selling England By The Pound. All the band members were all credited with writing the song about a groundsman who did not want to grow up and wanted to stay the same.

In 1977 a No.14 hit was scored with Match Of The Day from Spot The Pigeon EP.

In 1978 the groups biggest hit was Follow Me Follow You written by Collins, Banks and Rutherford. This was the last hit single of the 1970s.

Peter Gabriel was in the group from 67-75 and back for a few months in 1978. Steve Hackett was in the band from 71-77.
