In the 1970s Millican and Nesbitt
I bet you are really struggling to remember this pair? The duo was Alan Millican and Tom Nesbitt singing a song that was written by Larry Russell, Inez James, and Buddy Pepper called Vaya Con Dios (May God Be With You) which was originally a hit in 1953, but this version came from the singers winning on the ITV TV series Opportunity Knocks a talent competition for Thames TV with the one and only Hughie Green. I mean that most sincerely.
The guys were former miners in Northumberland who made one follow up that just pushed inside the top forty in 1974 called For Old Time’s Sake. Well for old time’s sake I think they should have stopped at the first one and left it alone.
