In The 1970s Geordie

Four lads from Newcastle formed Geordie, which of course is a play on the area that the guys lived in.. Several members passed through the group including Brian Johnson ,who went on to be the lead singer of AC/DC in 1980.

The group were very much rock influenced and had some great toe tapping hits in the 1970s. Staring in 1972 with a small hit with Don't Do That, but it was in 1973 when supporting Slade on the road that they had their first top twenty hit with All Because Of You getting to No. 6.

A few months later they had a No. 13 hit with a much better song called Can You Do It?

A small hit followed Electric Lady and that w the last single for the group to really make any headway in the charts.
