Mandy by Barry Manilow
Born in 1943 Barry is still a huge star around the world, and after years of playing in bars and making jingles he made the very big time. Barry Alan Pincus (his born name). had the hit "Mandy", which was written by Scott English and Richard Kerr, the song was a hit in New Zealand in 1972 by Bunny Walters, and in the UK in 1971 by Scott English. Most people only remember Barry's amazing version, which originally was called "Brandy".
Please Mr Postman by Carpenters
Karen and Richard Carpenter, singing in harmony, like nobody else could with the1961 Marvelettes hit. Karen was only 32 when she died in 1983, but her voice will live on forever in the 70s music charts.

This group started in California in 1971, and with the drugs and the Sun and the time, they really did catch the spirit of the mid 70s music, and have left a legacy of great music. This song was written by Don Henley, who was born in 1947, Glenn Frey from 1948, and J D Souther born in 1945. The single comes from the album "On The Border"
